The Pradosh Vrat is an auspicious Vrat of Hinduism. This vrat is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Pradosh vrat is also known as Pradosham and it is observed twice in the Lunar month as per the Hindu calendar. Pradosh Vrat is observed on the Triyodashiof both the Krishna Paksha and Shukla Paksha. The meaning of Pradosh is the dusk of the early night or evening tide. This Vrat is observed in the evening twilight so it is called as Pradosh Vrat. According to the Hindu mythology, on this day Lord Shiva with Goddess Parvati feels extremely delighted, generous and pleased. The devotees of Lord Shiva keeps fast and worship their deity on this day to seek blessings.
