Mahadev-The Divine Consciousness

Mahadev the Anant, the beginning and the end of all. The state of absolute zero, the Adiyogi. A Vayraagi, the existence of three states in one -Nirgun, Saguna and Nirgun-Sagun. These are the few references that come to mind when we think of him. From Vedic to Tantrik philosophies he is mentioned in almost every text. It’s indeed a wonder when looking for him you are actually finding yourself. The profound epitome of masculine energy who in all his essence bows down very humbly to the feminine energy. As quoted in the ancient texts Shiva cannot exist without Shakti nor Shakti without Shiva. So much is known about him yet so much untold. He shall forever remain and enigma.

 

He is indeed the state of absolute consciousness. He exists in every form. Here are some facts about thy mystery.

 

1. Shiva can be split as Sha+ee+vawhere

• Sha stands for shareeram or body
• Ee stands for eeshwara or life giving energy
• Va stands for vayu or motion

 

2. He pioneered the Guru - Shishya tradition.

 

3. The Yogic Science comes from him and the Yogic culture is derived from him.

 

4. Mahadev loves his devotees so once to fulfill the wish of one of his devotes he incarnated in the form a baby fondly known as Graphati.

 

5. He exists in 3 stars Nirgun, Saguna and Nirgun-Sagun.

 

6. He is also referred to as Natraja as he was known to perform the divine dance.

 

7. The Mantra of Shiva “Om Namha Shivay” is known to clear the system and bring about a meditative state when chanted regularly.
