What is TrayodashiShraddha, ChaturdashiShraddha?

TrayodashiShraddha is the thirteen day of the PitruPaksha. TrayodashiShraddha is also known as Kakbali or TerasShradha.

According to the Hindu calendar, TrayodashiShraddha falls on the Trayodashitithi of the Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month.

As per the North Indian Amavasyant Calendar, TrayodashiShraddha falls in the month of Ashwin.

ChaturdashiShraddha is the 14th day of the PitruPaksha. ChaturdashiShraddha is known as ChaudasShraddha.

As per the Hindu calendar, ChaturdashiShraddha falls on the Chaturdashitithi of the Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month. As per the North Indian Amavasyant Calendar, it falls in the month of Ashwin.

This tithi is suitable for performing the Shraddha rituals of those who died an unnatural death due to accidents, suicide or murder. On Chaturdashi, Shraddha is usually not done and is performed on AmavasyaShraddha.
