Devi Chandraghanta, known as Devi Parvati, is worshipped on the 3rd day of navdurga puja. Due to her importance among all 9 forms Devi Chandraghanta pooja is performed on the 3rd day of Nav Durga. It is believed that the planet shukra is governed by Devi Chandraghanta  and any kind of bad effect of the plane shukra may be get rid of by performing the devi Chandraghanta  pooja. She is depicted with 10 hands. Devi Chandraghanta carries trishul, sword, gada, varada mudra and kamandal in the one hand and lotus flower, arrow, dhanush, abhaya mudra and japa mala in the other hand in that order. The mount of devi Chandraghanta is lion. She is like jasmine, known as chameli, flowers.
