The Mata Vaishno Devi temple is built in the cave style of architecture. It has 4 temples in totality. A lot of transports are available in order to reach the “Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan”. These include ponies, electrics vehicles and paalkhis. Helicopter services are also provided as the “chadhai” is quite difficult. The climb is quite steep and risky. This temple is especially recommended to be visited by people desirous of something in life primarily a kid, or well-being of a particular family member.
The Mata Vaishno Temple in a town near Katra, Jammu and Kashmir, is one of the most famous temples designated to Goddess Shakti. It is located at an elevation of about 5200 feet. Mata Shakti is supposedly an incarnation of Goddess Kali, Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Saraswati. By mythology, it is said that the pilgrimage to Mata Vaishno is incomplete until the devotees visit the Bhaironath Temple.
The Prasad at the temple contains –
- A box of Panch Bhog Prasad
- Mata ka Sikka
- A picture of Mata Pindi Darshan
Though devotees visit the temple round the year but the monsoon months become extra risky as the pathway to the temple is very steep and during the rain sit becomes very slippery. People often visit the shrine on horses and jeeps and on chariots. It is believed that one must visit the Vaishno Devi Mandir at least once in lifetime.
